Accessibility to Prairie Cardiologists outside of Springfield, Decatur, Effingham, and Carbondale is another commitment made by Prairie cardiologists to ensure no one in central and southern Illinois is without high quality heart care.
Prairie cardiologists travel to cities outside of full-time clinic locations daily to essentially make "house calls" in those cities. Most Prairie clinics are based in the local hospital which means Prairie cardiologists are able to treat outpatients as well as provide consultation for hospital inpatients. Additionally, initial evaluation and follow-up care are provided close to home, eliminating the need for travel.
